I am ready for my close up Mr Demille
Guess what? Cameras have settings. I know this, because after swearing at our cheap digital camera for taking out of focus photos, except for when the subject matter is really close to you, I found that you can set the focal length. Who knew? So, if you find a button that looks like a Rose, and one that looks like a Mountain, choose the Mountain one, unless you are actually taking a close-up of a rose, and let's face it, that isn't often. So my face is now rather rosy, unlike the camera setting. I expect to have results soon, and post them on the web. Good news also in the SLR department. We have found that when you take a camera in to the experts they can actually find the fault. It was something like a 'hair in the gate' or something technical. Some gold coloured foil looking fan / fins things kept getting stuck together, and would not open when the shutter was pressed. This ended up with a lot of photos of the dark side of the moon coming out. We therefore also expect results next time we take the SLR out on a date.
The latest from us is that no one in the house has slept through the night for 9 consequtive attempts. The wee gal developed a temperature last Tuesday week, which would occasionally spike past 40 degrees. She responded to Neurofen and Paracetemol, and was dosed up with these for 5 days and nights, waiting for the fever to break. We then went to the doctor when it had not, and he said to wait a few days. We did that. Rubbish. He said it was 'Rosiela Infantum'. My arm, it was. After coming back from nursery last night, she was still hot on day 8, so as it was late we took her down to the hospital. Lots of prodding and stuff, and they said 'it is a fever, it will break some day'. I told them they were getting confused with my camera. After them trying to draw blood from our girl and failing, Moira secreted our girl out to the car at 10pm, while I found a doctor and asked to sign the discharge papers. You would have thought I had stolen 'Phar Lap'. Sufficed to say they thought that my years of clinical excellence ( i.e. reading the instructions on a Calpol bottle ) were not up to scratch and they wanted my baby back. I told them to go find Jimmy Cross, and they were.
We took our gal to the doctor again this morning and guess what he said? Yep, even I had figured out his diagnosis and prognosis. We are all waiting for the fever to break, and also for any news on 'Phar Lap'. We shall keep you posted on updates to either.
Lily, get well soon love, Daddy needs his sleep.
